Moxon's side next take on Warwickshire in the Championship |
Yorkshire coach Martyn Moxon was involved in a heated confrontation with one fan after losing to Surrey in the Friends Provident Trophy on Monday. The supporter shouted at Moxon after a batting collapse saw Yorkshire lose. The director of cricket and the fan had a five-minute exchange while surrounded by Headingley stewards. "I think it's a disappointed member speaking to a disappointed coach and he wanted an explanation and I gave it to him," Moxon told BBC Radio Leeds. "We get disappointed about things that happen just as much as spectators do and he was giving his opinion. | 606: DEBATE |
"I explained my situation and thoughts to him and I think we went home happy." Chasing a modest target of 185 in what started out as a 47-over match, Yorkshire were cruising on 63-1. They then lost five wickets for only five runs in 28 balls, as they lost by 63 runs under the Duckworth/Lewis method. Moxon added: "I don't think there was any problem at the end of the day. "He accepted what I had to say and that's the end of the matter as far as I'm concerned."
