Deeney has scored six goals for the Saddlers so far this season
Walsall forward Troy Deeney feels he is learning a lot from playing alongside veteran Darren Byfield.
Deeney, who broke a five-game scoring drought with two goals in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Oldham, says former Villa striker Byfield is a major factor.
"Me and Daz have struck up a decent partnership at the moment," he told BBC WM. "If I don't score he scores. If he doesn't score I score.
"He's a good foil. He's 33 but he's still quicker than anyone I know."
The third key component of the Saddlers' five-game unbeaten run has been Steve Jones.
Despite playing out wide, the former Northern Ireland international is Walsall's top scorer, having taken his season's goal tally to eight in midweek.
"We keep saying to him that he's meant to be putting us in," added Deeney. "But, at the moment it's been me and Daz putting him in.
"It bodes well for the team if we can get goals from the wing and midfield."
Birmingham-born forward Deeney, 21, is often his own sternest critic. And, after taking his own tally to six for the season, he admits that it was high time he found the back of the net himself.
"Long overdue," he said. "But I was quite happy to be setting up Daz and having a hand in Jonah's goal as well last week.
"I'm still doing okay, I think, but I can just progress now and kick on again."
