Torquay United have signed striker Martin Gritton on a six-month loan from fellow League Two side Chesterfield.
The 32-year-old Scot had a successful spell with Gulls between 2002-04, scoring 23 goals in 93 appearances.
After leaving Plainmoor, Gritton went on to play for Grimsby, Lincoln City, Macclesfield and Chesterfield.
"It's good to be back, albeit on loan," Gritton told BBC Sport. "It's up to me to prove to manager Paul Buckle that I'm worthy of a longer contract."
He added: "We'll see how it goes but the main thing is to get regular football, which I wasn't doing at Chesterfield."
Gritton started his career at Plymouth Argyle in 1998, and went on to spend four years at Home Park.
