GB Premier Women's Dragon Boat in action |
Nine members of Exeter's Exe-Calibre Dragon Boat Club have been picked for the European Dragon Boat Championships in August. Six members of the club will row for the senior Great Britain team in Amsterdam, with three in the Under-18s. Exe-Calibre's Alex Windsor said: "To be selected to represent Great Britain is amazing, I can't wait to go. "I've never been good at the usual sports so it's been great to find an activity I enjoy and I'm good at." The British competitors will be up against teams from across the globe, including Australia, Canada, Japan, and most significantly China, where the sport originated more than 2,000 years ago.
