Plymouth Devils' National Trophy match with Newport was abandoned after five heats because of heavy rain at the St Boniface Arena. The Devils were leading the Trophy encounter 17-13 when the rain intervened, forcing referee Phil Griffin to suspend the action. Plymouth's riders had won all five of the heats at the time the match was called off. The tie has been re-arranged for Friday, 10 September.
