Centuries from Neil Hancock and David Lye helped put Devon firmly in charge on day one of their Minor Counties clash with Cheshire in Nantwich. Both players hit career-best scores, with Lye knocking 165 and Hancock 161, enabling Devon to declare on 420-6. The home side came in to bat with an hour left to play and quickly lost Johnny Kettle and Jamie Duffy to seamer Trevor Anning. Cheshire will resume play 375 runs behind with eight wickets left.
