Manager Steve Tilson is keen for his youngsters to gain experience.
Southend United striker James Lindie has joined Spanish side CD Javea on loan until the end of the year.
The 18-year-old is on a one-year development contract at Roots Hall and moves to Javea as part of the link-up between the two clubs.
"It will be a big step up and different because of the lifestyle," Lindie told the club's website.
"Playing a different style of football will be good and it should be a worthwhile experience."
Lindie will link up with former Under-18's captain Tom Hopkins and full-back Dan Harvey, who are both currently on season-long loans at the Costa Blanca club.
United agreed a deal with CD Javea earlier this month which, as well as player recruitment, includes the possibility of pre-season friendlies and training camps.
