Southend United have re-signed Reading midfielder Hal Robson-Kanu on a one-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old spent three months at Roots Hall at the end of last season, scoring three goals in eight starts.

Blues boss Steve Tilson told the club website: "He did well last season when he was fit and the fact he can play on the wing or upfront is a bonus."

Southend will also trial Portsmouth's French midfielder Jean-Francois Christophe over the next few days.
