Captain Ian Sharps says Shrewsbury Town can get better
Ian Sharps signed a two-year deal at Shrewsbury this summer
Shrewsbury captain Ian Sharps believes they can get better after their unbeaten start to the season.
Town have opened their League Two account with wins against Bradford and Macclesfield, as well as beating Charlton 4-3 in the Carling Cup.
"Sometimes it takes time for people to gel, but good players learn from each other quickly," the defender told BBC Radio Shropshire.
"But there are lots of things we can work on, and we can still get better."
Sharps, who moved from Rotherham in the summer, has also welcomed new manager Graham Turner's experience in the game.
"Life's good under him," he said. "He's a quiet man, but when he says something you stand and listen."
Turner returned to Shrewsbury just before the start of the season 26 years after his first spell in charge.
He left the club in 1984 to manage Aston Villa and then Wolves, before taking over at Hereford in 1995 where he also became club chairman and had a 14-year spell as permanent boss.
Sharps was one of a number of Turner signings in the close season, and the central defender was quickly named as Shrewsbury's new captain.
"I'm enjoying life here - we all are," he added. "We're working hard in training - but we're not resting on our laurels.
"We've only played two games in the league, and there's a long way to go yet. We need to kick on again against Aldershot on Saturday."
