Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson has warned his players to prove they should be in his plans if Town manage to win promotion to League One.
The Shrews, who are still fighting for a play-off spot, were one of the pre-season favourites for promotion.
Simpson told BBC Radio Shropshire, "In football, you're always playing for the future, for your next contract."
"We have some great lads, but if they are a bunch who might not get success here then we'll have to change things.
"I still believe they can make the play-offs, and I want them to show they can stay and achieve something for us," he added.

"We want to be a successful club, and I think we've made great strides from when I came here a year ago and we were scrapping against relegation.
"I still believe the ability's there, and most certainly the desire is there - that's unquestionable."
