Shrewsbury midfielder Steve Leslie is determined to prove he has recovered from a leg injury in a bid to play against Dagenham & Redbridge.

The 21-year-old hurt his leg against Lincoln in the 0-0 draw at the Prostar Stadium at the weekend.

He told BBC Radio Shropshire: "I've been struggling all week with a dead leg but the physios have done a good job to get me back training.

"I think this is the biggest game since I've been at the club."

Shrewsbury need to beat the Daggers at Victoria Road on Saturday to reach the League Two play-offs, but the hosts need just a point to secure their place.

Leslie made his debut in the first team in April 2006 after playing in Town's academy and has enjoyed a good run of games under manager Paul Simpson this season.

"I think it's been a good season for me, it's better than the last few seasons, I've had a run of games, I think the manager likes me," he added.

You can hear full match commentary of Dagenham against Shrewsbury and all the build up to the game on BBC Radio Shropshire 96 FM from 1300 BST on Saturday.
