Telford Tigers face losing several players, as uncertainty grows about the direction of the club. Dave Candlin, who recently announced he was standing down after six years in charge, is talking to several possible management teams. But with no firm ownership, some players are thought to be looking elsewhere for contracts. Tom Carlon is thought to be talking to Peterborough, James Knight to Slough, and Sam Zajac to Baskingstoke. "When we first made it known we were stepping away, there were a number of groups and individuals who contacted us to find out more," said Candlin. "We gave them all the information they needed about the club and its assets, to enable them to make an informed decision. "Some of those have dropped out, but we are still talking to some interested parties. These are people with strong business or hockey backgrounds, who understand the sport and Telford Tigers' place within it. "To be honest, I was surprised there were not more groups coming forward. I expected a variety of business and fans consortiums to demonstrate an interest, as has generally happened in the past." The English Premier League has kept a close eye on the situation, as they look to finalise membership for the 2009/10 season.
