Holt joined from Nottingham Forest for a club record 170,000
Grant Holt has targeted a 30-goal finish to shoot Shrewsbury Town to promotion - but has called on his team-mates to chip in as well.
"With six games to go, whichever ones I score are going to be important, but it really doesn't matter who gets them.
"If Ben Davies scores four hat-tricks in the next game and finishes as top scorer, I wouldn't be bothered."
Holt, on 26 goals, told BBC Radio Shropshire: "We're close to promotion. We just need to finish it off."
Holt was named this week as the League Two Player of the Year, but stressed that if Shrewsbury fail to go up, his award will be meaningless.
"It's always nice to get prestigious awards, but it's all about what the team does, and it'll be a lot sweeter if we get promoted," said Town's most expensive player.
Holt has 26 goals in 42 appearances which included a five in one game, the 7-0 win over Wycombe Wanderers in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy in October.
He has rated his best as the goal he scored at another of his former clubs, Rochdale, in December.
"Ben Davies played it back in the box, I was going to take touch but I decided to flick it over the goalie's head, and I caught it sweetly into the top corner," he recalled.
"It's always hard to go back to your old team and sometime you don't perform as well as you can, so that would probably be the pick of the bunch."
Holt is just two goals short of the 100 mark in his senior career but has not planned any special celebrations.
"I know it's just around the corner, but I really haven't thought about it," he added.
