Shrewsbury defender Ben Herd has said he is ready to step back into the side after Darren Moss was sent off against Bournemouth at the weekend.
Herd last played in November against Chesterfield but he lost his place to Moss after picking up five cautions.
He told BBC Radio Shropshire: "It's down to me to establish myself again. Hopefully I'll get my chance.
"It is a bit ironic if it does happen - it will be against Chesterfield, it's just one of those football ironies."
The 23-year-old added: "It's the first time I've had to fight for my place since I've been here. I'm a bit of a fighter I'm not going to run at the first sign of trouble."
Town slipped back to eighth in League Two as their poor away form continued with a 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth but they now face Chesterfield and Chester at home in their next two games.
Meanwhile, Shrewsbury have confirmed they currently have Omer Riza as a trialist at the club.
The striker is currently serving a four-month ban imposed by the Turkish Football Assocation after his spell with Trabzonspor.
The 29-year-old started his career with Arsenal in 1998 and he has since had spells with West Ham United, Barnet, Cambridge United, Denizlispor and Trabzonspor.
