Croft is banned for the rest of 2009 |
Telford Tigers have revealed they will appeal against the nine-month suspension meted out to Dan Croft by the English Ice Hockey Association. The 29-year-old defenceman was shocked by the length of the ban imposed for a fight with Romford Raiders' Scott Mackenzie on 15 February. "I am shocked - I wasn't expecting this," he said. Tigers coach Claude Dumas added: "Croft is a physical player, but we're really disappointed by what's happened." The EIHA cited 'excessive roughness' in the incident with Mackenzie as the reason for Croft's long suspension - until 1 January 2010.
