Scunthorpe let goalkeeper Josh Lillis stay at Rochdale
Lillis signed a four- year deal at Scunthorpe in September 2009
Scunthorpe have agreed in principle to allow Rochdale to extend the loan of goalkeeper Josh Lillis beyond January.
The 23-year-old has been at the League One club since the start of the season.
Iron boss Ian Baraclough told BBC Radio Humberside he is happy to allow Lillis to stay at Spotland but wants to be able to recall him if necessary.
"I'll speak to Keith [Hill, Rochdale boss], but I've already intimated it wouldn't be for six months. It would be a risk otherwise if we lose a keeper."
The Derby-born stopper has made 23 appearances this season, keeping four cleans sheets.
He signed professional terms with the Iron in 2006 and has made 26 appearances for the Championship club. He signed a new four-year contract in September 2009.
