Lillis signed professional terms with the Iron in 2006

Rochdale have signed Scunthorpe United goalkeeper Josh Lillis on a six-month loan deal.

The 23-year-old made one appearance for Dale last season, in their 4-0 win over Bournemouth in October 2009, while on a one-week emergency loan.

Lillis began his career as a trainee at Glanford Park and has also had loan spells at Notts County and Grimsby.

"It will be good for my development. Everyone wants to play and I'm no different," he told Rochdale's website.

"Despite only being here for a short spell last season I enjoyed it."

He signed professional terms with the Iron in 2006 and has made 26 appearances for the Championship club.
