Hull City have confirmed they are looking at experienced midfielders Nolberto Solano and James Harper.

The club told BBC Radio Humberside that the pair will join the Tigers in training this week.

Solano, 35, played under new boss Nigel Pearson at Leicester, where is on a six-month deal, while Harper, 29, is free after leaving Sheffield United.

The Tigers will be looking to bolster their midfield after the departures of a number of key players.

Brazilian midfielder Geovanni has become the most recent player to leave the KC Stadium, following in the footsteps of Stephen Hunt, George Boateng and Dean Marney.

Harper, who is best known for a nine-year stay at Reading, had been linked with a move to Crystal Palace.

However, Eagles manager George Burley confirmed the 29-year-old had not accepted their offer.

Solano is believed to be keen to follow Pearson to the KC Stadium after working with the new boss at both Leicester and Newcastle United.

The Peru legend has already announced that he will retire at the end of this season.
