Scunthorpe United have signed Huddersfield Town midfielder Michael Collins for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old former Republic of Ireland youth international has agreed a three-year contract with the option of a further year in the club's favour.

Collins arrives at Glanford Park after a professional career spanning six years at the Galpharm Stadium, where he came through the youth ranks.

The deal ends weeks of negotiations between the two clubs over a fee.

Halifax-born Collins has already joined his new team-mates at their pre-season training camp in Leicestershire.
