Rushden & Diamonds manager Justin Edinburgh says he needs his players to repay the faith he is showing in them.
Diamonds were beaten 4-3 at Eastwood Town in their FA Trophy first round replay on Tuesday after Alan Power missed a penalty in extra-time.
Edinburgh told BBC Radio Northampton: "Some inept defending from some senior players out there was our downfall.
"We're fragile. We showed our spirit to come from 3-1 behind but I need the players to take some responsibility."
Craig Farrell had given Diamonds the lead, only for Lee Stevenson to complete a 12-minute hat-trick after the break in normal time.

Ryan Charles hit two volleys to bring the visitors back on level terms, only for Matt Rhead to tap home early in added time.
Power fired his last minute penalty over the crossbar as Diamonds' run without a win was extended to nine matches in all competitions.
"If you come away from home and score three goals, you should win the game," said Edinburgh.
"The number of chances we've had in the last three games, we've got five goals and we could have had 15.
"We can only keep giving people a certain number of opportunities."
