Rushden & Diamonds 1-2 Altrincham

Altrincham moved off the bottom of the Blue Square Bet Premier table after coming from behind to secure an away victory against Rushden & Diamonds.

Aaron O'Connor headed in Curtis Osano's fine cross to put the home side ahead.

But the Robins responded and the influential Mark Beesley set up the equaliser by jinking down the left to cross for Damian Reeves to poke home.

The visitors, who beat Mansfield 1-0 on Monday, made it back-to-back wins when Andy Milne found space and fired home.

Rushden and Diamonds manager Justin Edinburgh told BBC Radio Northampton:
"It's a difficult period at the moment. If your luck is out, it's out, but if we continue with the kind of spirit that we have, and create the chances, we'll turn the tide.

"We've had some decent draws and disappointing defeats but no-one can doubt the players' commitment.

"We need to be a bit more ruthless and take the chances that come along."
