Diamonds boss Justin Edinburgh signs 'long-term' deal
Justin Edinburgh was made full-time manager at Diamonds in April 2009
Rushden & Diamonds manager Justin Edinburgh has signed an undisclosed 'long-term' contract extension with the Blue Square Bet Premier club.
The former Spurs defender, who arrived as assistant manager in October 2008, was on an existing one-year deal.
Although the length of his contract is undisclosed, Edinburgh told Diamonds' website: "It's a long-term deal which shows my commitment to this club.
"We've seen an improvement on and off the pitch in the last two years."
Edinburgh was made caretaker manager at Nene Park in February 2009, following the departure of Garry Hill.
The 2-1 Northamptonshire derby defeat at home to Kettering on Monday was his 95th game in charge, leaving the Diamonds in 10th place in the table, eight points shy of the play-offs.
Edinburgh's men made it to the Conference play-offs last season in his first full term in charge.
Diamonds chairman Gary Calder said: "I am delighted that Justin and I have come to an agreement and he has signed an extension to his contract.
"This gives the club stability going forward and, with the work ethic shown by Justin, we can all enjoy a bright future."
