Diamonds boss Justin Edinburgh warns of 'last chances'

Rushden & Diamonds boss Justin Edinburgh has warned that some players could be on their way out of the club.

Diamonds drew 1-1 with Blue Square Bet North side Eastwood Town in the FA Trophy on Saturday.

Edinburgh told BBC Radio Northampton: "The transfer window opens soon. We'll have players back from suspension or injury and I'm not waiting around.

"One or two might be coming to the end of their time here. Some might have had their last chance," he added.

"You can always give your best effort and we haven't."

The club were taken over by Gary Calder and Liam Beasant at the start of December, and Edinburgh could have funds to spend in January.

"I want to be moving forward through hard work and endeavour, and we're not seeing that consistently," said Edinburgh.

"Maybe one or two are comfortable and are here for the ride, but unfortunately some of them are going to disappear from the scenes.

"They won't get anywhere better to train and play. They're looked after well and they're not performing well.

"We're looking forward to the transfer window coming around."
