Rushden & Diamonds have signed South Africa-born defender Justin Miller.
The 29-year-old, who can play at centre-back or full-back, is returning to the UK after playing for Bidvest Wits in his native country.
Diamonds manager Justin Edinburgh told BBC Radio Northampton: "I'd seen him play a lot and he was someone I liked.
"He's played in the [South African] major league, and some of the South Africans players at the World Cup are in that league. So Justin is no fool."
He added: "He's got a wealth of experience, and been through promotions with Leyton Orient."
Miller started his career with Ipswich Town and made 150 appearances for Leyton Orient between 2003 and 2007.
He signed for Blue Square South outfit Chelmsford City in July 2008 but moved back to South Africa for family reasons only a few months later.
Left-back Jamie Day arrived at the club from Peterborough last week and Edinburgh is pleased with the look of his defence for the 2010/11 campaign.
"Curtis Osano will be at centre-back. He grew into that position last season and will only get better alongside Jamie Stuart," he said.
"Justin Miller can play at right back, and Michael Corcoran can play across the back four.
"Kurt Robinson and Jamie Day will be competing for the left-back slot. So I'm delighted with the players competing for those places in the back four."
