O'Brien has scored 93 runs in five T20 innings for Northants this season |
Northants wicketkeeper Niall O'Brien has been suspended for an undisclosed disciplinary breach. The 28-year-old Ireland player lost the vice-captaincy and has been banned from playing. He was not selected for the defeat by Derbyshire in the FP t20. Chief executive Mark Tagg told BBC Radio Northampton: "He's been suspended from his vice-captaincy for an internal disciplinary matter which is ongoing. "There's a meeting to take place, and it will be sorted out this week." O'Brien, who played for Ireland against Australia last week, had only recently been promoted to the vice-captaincy, after Nicky Boje resigned the captain's role to Andrew Hall. "When he next plays is up to the coach," Tagg added.
