Glynn played for Sale Sharks in their pre-season matches last summer |
Northampton Saints have signed young scrum-halves Ryan Glynn and Stuart Commins to their squad for 2010/11. Glynn, 18, arrives from Sale, having played for England Under-16 and Under-18 sides and featuring regularly for Sale's second team, the Jets. Commins, 21, attended rugby school in Cape Town and was in the 2008 and 2009 Western Province Under-21 squads. "They are ambitious to succeed and eager to show what they can do," said Saints director Jim Mallinder. He added that the pair will put the pressure on Lee Dickson and Ryan Powell, in what is a key position for the team. "They are players with plenty of potential and of course will have plenty to learn," Mallinder continued. "But they have the skills to become very good scrum-halves and we look forward to them developing over the next few years at Franklin's Gardens."
