Midfielder Max Porter has signed a new one-year deal with Blue Square Premier outfit Rushden & Diamonds.
The 22-year-old, who arrived at Nene Park from Barnet in May 2009, was a regular member of the Diamonds side that reached the play-off semi-finals.
Porter told BBC Radio Northampton: "I said to the manager [Justin Edinburgh], once you've signed, I want to sign."
"He brought me to the club and he gave me the chance last year. I owe both him and the club loyalty."
Porter, who had spells at Cambridge United and Bishop's Stortford earlier in his career, has also gained international honours with England C.
"There was interest [from other clubs], particularly after the England games," added Porter.
"That was flattering but I'm delighted to get another year at Rushden, and hope we have another good season and get into the play-offs."
