Day's waiting game
Day was in brilliant form before his injury
Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Chris Day admits he may have to further bide his time as he waits to return to first-team action following a broken leg.

Day has been on loan to Aylesbury and has featured in several games for QPR's reserves since being given the all-clear to resume playing.

Now the former Tottenham and Watford man is hoping to re-establish himself as the number one keeper at Loftus Road, although summer signing Nick Culkin has started Rangers' last nine games.

If I'm needed and the manager wants me to play, I'm ready

Chris Day

Day said: "It just feels great to be involved and there is a world of difference between training and playing in matches.

"As for the first team, if the call comes then I'm ready and willing.

"But the team have been on a good little run recently and Nick has been the man in there and fair play to him.

"Injuries and suspensions can happen though and if I'm needed and the manager wants me to play, I'm ready."

Day was in brilliant form before suffering his injury against Oldham in October 2001.
