Preston North End's Parry anticipates Cardiff return
Parry has scored twice since joining Preston in August
Preston North End midfielder Paul Parry is relishing his first return to former club Cardiff City on Saturday.
The 29-year-old joined North End from their Championship rivals in August having made more than 200 appearances for the Welsh side.
"I had six good years there," Parry told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"But it's helped me moving here. A few things happened off the field last year and when I look back it was the right time to make a fresh start."
The Newport-born player, who has won 11 international caps for Wales, is keen to make an immediate impact on his return to the Welsh capital.
But he prefers to leave it to others to say whether Cardiff were wrong to sell him.
Parry admits to Wales mistakes
"You'll have to ask them what they expected from me," said Parry. "But I think it'd be wrong for me to say I haven't got anything to prove.
"I want to show them they were wrong to let me go. But now I'm a Preston player and my loyalties lie with them and first and foremost I want the three points on Saturday.
"If we can get a good run of results between now and the new year it'll put us in a great position for the remaining fixtures."
There will be full commentary on the game from Cardiff City Stadium on BBC Radio Wales South East FM & BBC Radio Lancashire from 1500 GMT.
