Quiet confidence pleases Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy
McIlroy has guided Morecambe to tenth in League Two
Morecambe boss Sammy McIlroy says he is not concerned about complacency setting in at the club despite their recent improved run of results.
The Shrimps, who drew nine of their opening 13 league games, have won their last five League Two matches and travel to Port Vale on Saturday.
"We don't go in over-confident," McIlroy told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"We've got to keep doing what we have been doing and we can't let that effort and quality drop."
McIlroy is also impressed with his side's defending after they picked up their third clean sheet in a row in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Bury.
We're all battling for one another and we're working on the same wavelength

And he feels any team's success is based around committed defending.
"Good sides have to keep clean sheets," he said. "They also have to score goals and we're doing that at the moment.
"We've turned things round but it could also go the other way because any team on their day can beat anyone. But the players who've come in have got to take credit [for improved results].
"I've played people like Michael Twiss wide right and wide left. Gary Hunter has played right-back and on the right side and all the players have given 100%.
"At the moment we're all battling for one another and we're working on the same wavelength and it's working."
