Sammy McIlroy led Morecambe to the football league in 2007
Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy admits he is responsible for his team's disappointing start to the season.
The shrimps have recorded just one victory in League Two this season and now sit just two points above the relegation places.
McIlroy told BBC Radio Lancashire: "We are where we because we have not got the results.
"It's my responsibility for that. I put out a side and my results aren't good enough," he added.
The injuries since pre-season have been shocking

"In the first 45 minutes at Aldershot last week we should have been 3-0 up. Again, we didn't take our chances and paid for it at the end of the game.
"Forget about the [injury] problems we've had. Whatever team I put out I expect to get a result," McIlroy said.
"We've drawn a lot of games this season. We should have won half of them, but in the defeats we've had we've contributed to our own downfall."
Morecambe have been dealt a further injury blow this week with the news that goalkeeper Barry Roche faces up to six weeks on the sidelines with a leg injury.
McIlroy said: "The injuries since pre-season have been shocking. For Barry to get this injury has really put the knife in.
"I do need to bring another goalkeeper in but I'm finding that very difficult. We had no goalkeeper on the bench last week so I'm working around the clock to get that sorted."
