Former Northern Ireland manager Sammy McIlroy has taken over as caretaker manager of Conference side Morecambe. He is to stand in for Shrimps boss Jim Harvey, who is recovering in hospital after suffering a heart attack before last Saturday's game against Cambridge.
Harvey, who was McIlroy's assistant with Northern Ireland, is expected to be sidelined for around three months.
McIlroy's last job in management came at Stockport County, but he left them by mutual consent in November 2004.
The 51-year-old, who led Macclesfield to the Conference title in 1997, will be assisted at Christie Park by Mark Lillis, who was his assistant at Stockport.
