Parry demands improved home form

Preston midfielder Paul Parry has said that his side need to improve their home form if they are to make the Championship play-offs.

North End currently lie ninth in the table, one point off the play-off places, but have only managed three wins at Deepdale this season.

"I think you've got to make your home ground your fortress," Parry told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"If we beat Crystal Palace on Saturday we'll be in there with a shout."

The former Wales international joined Preston from Cardiff in August after making 214 appearances for the Bluebirds.

He has played in 10 games for North End this season, the most recent being the 2-2 draw with Middlesbrough last Saturday.

"It's a funny old league and no-one ever seems to run away with it," added the 29-year-old.

"I thought Newcastle were going to do well at one stage but they seem to have hit a bit of a wall lately.

"I think there's going to be around eight or nine teams who'll fancy themselves for the play-offs and I think we're going to be one of them."
