Adams favourite for Port Vale job

Micky Adams
Adams has been out of management since February 2009

Former Fulham, Coventry and Leicester manager Micky Adams is the favourite to take charge at Port Vale, BBC Radio Stoke understands.

Adams, who has been a leading candidate along with the former Cheltenham manager John Ward, appears to have won the race for the Vale Park hot seat.

The 47-year-old guided Fulham, Leicester and Brighton to promotion.

Vale chairman Bill Bratt told BBC Radio Stoke: "We hope to make an appointment in the next few days."
