Plymouth Argyle have signed Cameroon international winger Ruodolphe Douala on a short-term contract.
The 30-year-old impressed Argyle boss Paul Sturrock during a reserve game last week.
"We've signed him until the end of the season. He's got pace and he offers something different to the players we already have," said Sturrock.
"His fitness is fine. We will work with him over the next couple of weeks as he gives us a different option."
Douala, who has 11 caps for his country, played seven games on loan at Portsmouth in 2006-07.
He has played for St Etienne in France as well as a number of Portuguese teams including Sporting Lisbon.
