Posh can overtake Dons - Williams

Williams has returned to the side after knee surgery

Peterborough United defender Tommy Williams is confident his side can pip rivals MK Dons to the second automatic promotion place in League One.

Williams returned to the team last week after knee surgery and featured in Posh's 2-1 defeat at home by Southend.

The 28-year-old told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "If we get ourselves ahead of Milton Keynes I think it'll be hard for them to come back.

"There's some very hungry players here that want back-to-back promotions."

Peterborough's loss at the weekend means they missed the chance to usurp the Dons who drew at home to Leicester but Williams is confident Posh can get back to winning ways.

He said: "I'm the worst loser in the world, I hate losing. But the game's gone, we can't do anything about it right now. We're going to Leyton Orient to pick up three points.

"Every game is absolutely humongous. We're going to concentrate on our games and not others."
