With the Blue Square Premier season set to kick off, BBC Oxford Sport brings you everything you need to know about the Oxford United squad.

Having made 11 new signings this summer, Chris Wilder's squad has a rather different look about it for the 2009/2010 campaign.


Billy Turley
Turley has been with Oxford United since 2005

Name: Billy Turley

Position: Goalkeeper

Turley, 36, joined Oxford United from Rushden in 2005 and has since cemented his place as first-choice goalkeeper. He is the only member of the current squad who was with the club when they suffered relegation from the Football League in 2006.


Ryan Clarke
Clarke is a former England under-21 International

Name: Ryan Clarke

Position: Goalkeeper

Clarke, 27, was signed by United from Northwich Victoria in June. He has previously represented England at Under-21 level and will battle it out with Billy Turley for the number one spot this season. He played in Northwich's 2-1 victory over Oxford on the final day of last season.


Luke Foster
Foster was the supporters player of the year in the 07/08 season

Luke Foster

Position: Defender

Foster, 23, joined Oxford in 2007 from Stalybridge Celtic. As well as playing as a centre-back, he is equally comfortable at full-back or in midfield. Foster was named supporters' player of the year in the 2007/08 season. He was linked to Coventry and Cardiff last summer.


Damian Batt
Batt joined Oxford United in January 2009

Name: Damian Batt

Position: Defender

Batt, 24, is a full-back who joined Oxford United in January from Grays Athletic. He immediately proved his worth in the first-team and made 16 league appearances for the U's during his debut season. He is the brother of Peterborough winger Shaun.


Mark Creighton
Creighton is a 6ft 4in centre-half

Name: Mark Creighton

Position: Defender

Creighton, 28, who plays at centre-back, signed from Kidderminster Harriers in May. Standing at 6ft 4in tall, he has a great physical presence and was named Kidderminster's player of the year in 2006/07 and 2007/08.


Kevin Sandwith
Sandwith is United's set-piece specialist

Name: Kevin Sandwith

Position: Defender

Sandwith, 31, joined Oxford United in February from Weymouth. He made nine appearances in his first season, getting on the scoresheet once in the process. His set-piece delivery has earned him the reputation of a dead-ball specialist.


Rhys Day
Day has played for Wales Under-21s

Name: Rhys Day

Position: Defender

Day, 26, is a former Wales Under-21 international who signed for the U's in July. He came through the youth ranks at Manchester City before having spells with Mansfield Town, Blackpool and Aldershot Town.


Shane Killock
Killock played three times for the U's

Name: Shane Killock

Position: Defender

Killock, 20, joined United on loan in January but was hampered last season because of injury. Despite making just three first-team appearances for the U's, he signed a permanent deal with the club at the end of the season.


Adam Murray
Murray is Oxford's captain

Name: Adam Murray

Position: Midfielder

Murray, 27, is a former Derby County trainee who joined the U's in 2008. He was an integral part of the team last season, making 45 league appearances and scoring seven goals. Arguably United's most consistent performer last season.


Marcus Kelly
Kelly joined from Rushden in 2009

Name: Marcus Kelly

Position: Midfielder

Kelly, 23, plays predominantly down the left wing. He was signed by Chris Wilder from Rushden and Diamonds in June. He has previously been on the scoresheet against the U's, scoring twice in a 3-0 win for Rushden in 2006.


Simon Clist
Clist made 14 appearances for the U's last season

Name: Simon Clist

Position: Midfielder

Clist, 28, joined the U's in February from Forest Green Rovers for a nominal fee. After starting his career as a trainee with Bristol City, Clist has also had spells with Barnet and Torquay United. He found the net three times in 14 appearances last season.


Alfie Potter
Potter is on loan from Peterborough United

Name: Alfie Potter

Position: Midfielder

Potter, 20, is on a season-long loan with United from Championship side Peterborough United. The skilful winger has previously had loan spells with Grays Athletic, Kettering Town and Havant and Waterlooville, where he scored an FA Cup fourth round goal against Liverpool at Anfield.


Alex Rhodes
Rhodes joined the U's from Rotherham this summer

Name: Alex Rhodes

Position: Midfielder

Rhodes, 27, is a left-sided midfielder who was signed by Chris Wilder in the 2009 summer transfer window. The direct winger has bags of pace and he signed from Rotherham having previously played for Bradford City and Woking among others.


Dannie Bulman
Bulman was signed by Chris Wilder in May 2009

Name: Dannie Bulman

Position: Midfielder

Bulman, 30, was brought in by Chris Wilder in May. A highly-regarded player at this level, he started out at Wycombe Wanderers before spells with Stevenage Borough and Crawley Town. Town boss Steve Evans claimed Oxford's contract offer had "blown out of the water" their offer, a claim United denied.


Sam Deering
Deering has come through the youth ranks at the U's

Name:

Sam Deering

Position: Midfielder

Deering, 18, came through the youth ranks at Oxford United and broke into the first-team last season, making 19 league appearances. His season was ended prematurely when he suffered a broken leg against Salisbury on Boxing Day. Now back to full fitness, he is expected to play a big part for the U's this season.


Adam Chapman
Chapman is a Northern Ireland under-21 International

Name: Adam Chapman

Position: Midfielder

Chapman, 19, is a Northern Ireland Under-21 international who joined the U's on loan from Sheffield United in January. He signed on a permanent basis at the end of the season after making 20 appearances and scoring twice for United in the second half of the 2008/2009 season.


James Constable
Constable was the top scorer for the U's last season

Name: James Constable

Position: Striker

Constable, 24, joined United on a season-long loan in the summer of 2008 and proved to be an instant hit. He scored 23 goals in just 41 league appearances last season. After being named players' player, supporters' player and Blue Square player of the year, Chris Wilder signed the striker on a permanent deal this summer.


Jack Midson
Midson hit 20 goals for Histon last season

Name: Jack Midson

Position: Striker

Midson, 26, was signed after hitting 20 Blue Square Premier goals for Histon last season. After starting his career with Stevenage Borough, Midson had spells with Dagenham and Redbridge and Bishop's Stortford before making his name in the top flight of non-league football.


Matt Green
Green is on loan with the U's from Torquay United

Name: Matt Green

Position: Striker

Green, 22, has returned to the Kassam Stadium for his second loan spell having been on loan during the 2007/2008 season. He hit 10 goals in his first spell with the U's and will be hoping for a repeat performance this season.
