Oxford United defender Damian Batt has not recovered from injury in time to face his brother Shaun at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday.

The U's full-back has been suffering with a hamstring problem and will miss the friendly against Peterborough.

"I have been looking forward to it ever since I found out I would be playing my brother," Batt told BBC Oxford.

"I'd rather be fit for the first game of the season than a friendly, even if it is against my brother."

Despite the disappointment of missing the game against the Championship side Batt feels he will be win the race to be fit for their first league game against York.

"I'm getting there. I am very close, I think it is just precautionary and I should be OK."

BBC Oxford has full commentary of the 1500 BST kick-off against Peterborough on 95.2 FM in Oxfordshire.
