Constable wants to agree U's deal

James Constable
Constable has scored three times more than any other U's player this season

Oxford United's on-loan striker James Constable says he wants to agree a permanent deal at the Kassam Stadium.

The Shrewsbury player, 24, is the joint-second top scorer in the Blue Square Premier this season and has scored 21 goals for the U's so far.

"Hopefully we can sort something out with the club and Shrewsbury before the end of the season," he said.

"Ideally I'd like it sorted so I can get away in the summer knowing what is going on when I get back."

Constable scored twice in Oxford United's 3-1 win at Rushden & Diamonds on Tuesday night and has been a key player in their play-off bid.
