Oxford United manager Chris Wilder has praised the will to win of on-loan striker James Constable after he scored the only goal against Altrincham.
"He earned the goal himself. He put himself on the line and showed a great desire to score," Wilder told BBC Oxford after Constable's 14th U's goal.
"We should have been more intelligent late on though and could have won the game by three or four.
"He has his faults, but he has been great for me since I have been here."
Oxford fans are calling for United to make a bid to sign the striker, who is on loan from Shrewsbury, on a permanent deal.
Constable, 24, said: "I am open to offers. I haven't heard from Shrewsbury. Whatever happens in the summer, happens."
