Oxford United loan signing Ricky Sappleton said he was thrilled with his goal-scoring debut in the 2-0 win over Salisbury at the Kassam Stadium.

The 19-year-old Leicester forward scored the second after coming on as a substitute on 61 minutes.

"It went pretty good to be honest and I was delighted to get the goal, " Sappleton told BBC Oxford.

"It was hard as I didn't know most of the players' names, but I thought I should go out and enjoy myself."

The powerful forward joined on a month's loan from the Foxes ahead of the match against the Wiltshire side.
