Oxford United have signed teenage Leicester City striker Ricky Sappleton on a month's loan.

The 19-year-old has joined the U's in time to make his debut in Thursday's clash with Salisbury.

Sappleton joined the Foxes from QPR in June 2007 but has failed to break into boss Nigel Pearson's first-team plans.

He made one substitute appearance for Leicester last season and scored his first senior goal during a loan spell at Bournemouth in August.
