Bournemouth have signed Leicester City striker Ricky Sappleton on a one-month loan deal.

The 18-year-old will initially stay with the Cherries until 31 August and is available for Tuesday's Carling Cup tie with Cardiff City.

Sappleton said he was excited by the prospect of first-team football.

"I feel I can score goals for the club and am looking forward to linking with the likes of Jo Kuffour and Brett Pitman," he told the club website.

"We have different strengths and can work well together."
