Norwich City paid out �490,000 to agents between July and December 2008, a Football League report has revealed.
The figure puts them second in the Championship's list of top spenders on agents' fees, behind only Derby County who spent �717,000.
Then manager Glenn Roeder had a busy summer shifting players in and out of Carrow Road, with 21 individual moves.
In contrast, Sheffield Wednesday spent only �5,000 on agents' fees during the first half of the season.
