Northampton caretaker manager Ian Sampson hopes to bring in new players on loan before Saturday's League Two clash with Rochdale.
The Cobblers will be without suspended centre-half Chris McCready and Liam Davis who has a foot injury.
Sampson is likely to shuffle his defence with Craig Hinton switching to the centre in place of McCready.
He told BBC Radio Northampton: "We're looking at a few loan signings, pretty much everywhere."
The caretaker boss added former Sunderland manager Malcolm Crosby to his coaching staff this week and believes the club is already reaping the rewards of his influence.
"We've seen a good attitude this week. The new coach has come in to help me and the lads have been fantastic. I knew he would be a good coach for the lads," said Sampson.
