Rushden and Diamonds manager Justin Edinburgh says he would not stop winger Lee Tomlin from leaving the club.
Tomlin impressed in the 5-4 win over Grays and has three goals this season.
Edinburgh told BBC Radio Northampton: "He's more than capable of playing in the Football League. We wouldn't stand in his way.
"But it would have to be right for the club and for him. I'd love to keep him here but I think it's only a matter of time before maybe we get some offers."
Diamonds host Mansfield in the Blue Square Premier at the weekend, having scored 20 goals this season, including 11 in the past three games.
"I certainly feel we can tighten up defensively. Offensively, I couldn't be more delighted. If we can balance it out, then I'd be delighted," added Edinburgh.
"We are not a million miles away from being a good side."
