Morecambe's first competitive game at the Globe Arena is against Coventry
Morecambe have cancelled a programme of home pre-season friendlies because their new ground, the Globe Arena, will not be completed in time.
The delay affects games against Bolton, Preston North End and Manchester City.
Morecambe director Brian Fagan told BBC Radio Lancashire: "Let's put it in to perspective. It's a year-long project and we're a couple of weeks behind.
"We've failed to hit the target. We're disappointed but I think we've done a pretty good job getting here."
He added: "It's a big blow to us for financial reasons, publicity reasons and for the fans who were looking forward to it."
The open weekend scheduled for the 24-25 July has also been cancelled.
The first game to be played at the Globe Arena will now be against Coventry City on Tuesday 10 August in the first round of the Carling Cup.
Meanwhile the Shrimps have completed the signing of Huddersfield striker James Spencer on a six-month loan deal.
The 18-year-old, who is yet to make his senior debut in league football, scored seven goals in 20 appearances for the Terriers academy team.
