Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson praises Tyrone Barnett
Barnett is in his first season as a professional footballer
Boss Gary Simpson says Macclesfield might struggle to keep hold of striker Tyrone Barnett after he impressed in the 2-2 FA Cup draw with Southend.
The 25-year-old summer signing from Hednesford has had a good season, and scored four goals in 18 games.
Simpson told BBC Radio Manchester: "If there's been a better centre forward performance this season I haven't seen it. He has made huge strides.
"If he keeps playing like that we'll struggle to keep hold of him."
He added: "He's playing against defenders five or six inches bigger than him and he's beating them in the air."
Simpson also added he has seen a number of scouts at the Moss Rose in recent weeks assessing his squad.
When questioned whether they were watching Barnett he replied: "There's been a lot of people watching so if they're coming to watch and not looking at him I don't know who they're watching."
