Lincoln City's Chris Sutton handed FA fine and warning

Chris Sutton
Sutton felt he was right to complain following Aaron Brown's dismissal

Lincoln City manager Chris Sutton has been fined £500 and given a warning by the Football Association after admitting a charge of improper conduct.

Sutton was sent to the stands amid chaotic scenes in the 1-1 draw against Cheltenham at Sincil Bank in November.

The dismissal of Imps defender Aaron Brown led to a touchline fracas.

Sutton's assistant Ian Pearce and the Robins' Barry Richardson, who were both substitutes, were also sent off with all three receiving three-match bans.

After the game on 14 November, Sutton told BBC Radio Lincolnshire that he felt Cheltenham's players and staff had tried to influence referee Graham Salisbury's decision following Brown's challenge on Theo Lewis.

He said: "I don't know why I got sent to the stands as I didn't say anything which warranted it.

"I just asked why he'd sent him off and that was that."
