Kettering Town stalwart Brett Solkhon has hailed new manager Marcus Law to continue his excellent start with the Blue Square Bet Premier outfit.

The Poppies have claimed 10 points in four league matches since Law replaced Lee Harper in charge last month.

"The manager has come in here with a lot of energy and passion," Solkhon told BBC Radio Northampton.

"He's got bright ideas and it's suiting the team. The way he's adjusted it looks like he could go higher."

Solkhon, 28, spent six years with Kettering from 2003 to 2009 and re-joined the club at the start of the current season after a spell at Corby Town.

"Training has become more high-intensity and I think everyone's seeing that," he added.

"I've come into the team in the last eight games after an operation in the summer.

"I'd love an extended run through to the end of the season and hopefully earn a new contract.

"Obviously I want the team to do well, the club to get sorted off the pitch with the ground issue and us to have another good run in the FA Cup and FA Trophy."

Kettering entertain local rivals Rushden & Diamonds in the fourth qualifying round of the FA Cup this Saturday (1500 BST).
